6.2.6.3. Are there any advantages in learning the katakana before the hiragana?

Whilst different methods work for different people, it makes more sense to learn hiragana first, then katakana. This is because hiragana is the absolute basic building blocks of the language; the most basic greetings are all written in hiragana, and not katakana.
